Mao Chengyu is currently a cello teacher at Kids’ Philharmonic@sg. She is a very experienced orchestra and chamber musician who have been awarded the 2nd Prize at The 6th Vladivostok International Competition For Young Musicians. She graduated from Shenyang Conservatory of Music in China with a Diploma and continued her Bachelor’s Degree studies in Singapore with NUS Yong Siew Toh (YST) Conservatory of Music. Her instrumental teachers from YST are Mr Qin Li Wei, Head of Cello Studies, and Mr Leslie Tan, Artistic Faculty for Cello.

Her orchestra work experiences involve being a cellist with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra since 2017, performing at several concerts with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra as a soloist and was the cello principle of YST Conservatory Orchestra on several occasions.

As a testament to her teaching, Mao Chengyu had been awarded numerous teaching award as listed below:
